Save Money on Your 2021 Property Taxes!

The windows for filing your property tax appeal in McHenry County are opening up! With that being said, be on a look out for a notice from McHenry County regarding your property assessment. 

Current Open Townships

The townships that are currently open for appeal in McHenry County include, Coral, Dunham, and Dorr. In the event that you are a resident of Coral Township, you have until August 27th to file an appeal. In addition, if you belong to Dunham Township you will have up until the 3rd of September to file. Lastly, if you are a member of Dorr Township, you must file by September 10th

Townships Opening for Appeal

Furthermore, there are already three townships in McHenry County that have closed their dates for appeal. These include the Township’s of Chemung, Richmond, and Seneca. To clarify, if you are a resident of any of the three townships listed, you will be unable to appeal your taxes. People that live in the Township’s of Alden, Hebron, Burton, Hartland, Greenwood, McHenry, Marengo, Nunda, Riley, Grafton, and Algonquin can expect something in the mail in the next couple months. Once you receive your notice, you will have 30 calendar days to file a property tax. In the event you do not file within that 30-day window, you will be out of luck.
