Are you Named in a Lawsuit? If you are named as a Defendant in a lawsuit do not merely ignore the problem.  Doing nothing is a mistake.   Many people who are served with a Complaint, naming them as a Defendant in a lawsuit, do absolutely nothing.  In these cases, the Plaintiff can easily attain an order of default, a judgment from the Court, and statutory interest and/or attorney's fees in some cases.     You have rights.  By merely appearing and properly answering the Complaint you will force the Plaintiff to actually prove it's case against you.  This will, in most cases, save you money since you can call into question any exorbitant amounts the Plaintiff seeks, and will potentially allow you an opportunity to settle the matter for less than you may actually owe.   Timely addressing litigation, at the outset, is worth the time and effort.  Don't just hand the Pla...
